BREAKING NEWS ..

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY HANDS ERNIE MARGETSON  A DECISIVE VICTORY.

Prince Edward County voters made their choice tonight sending Ernie Margetson to the Mayor's chair for the next four years.   Margetson picked up just over 62% of the vote.  Brad Nieman came in second place with  3598  votes  and Terry Shortt came in third winning 1430 votes.  More than 100 people gathered at  Highline Hall to watch the results come in.  Total voter turnout nudged over the halfway mark with 13,381 votes or 50.05%.

Ernie Margetson wins the endorsement of the Picton Gazette and the Wellington Times

"Keen to learn, he’s open to new ideas and other points of view. That means he listens. When it’s his turn to speak, he’s both direct and thoughtful. He’s the one, in other words, that we want representing the County both in the province and to the feds. If anyone can forge a consensus across different constituencies, priorities, and points of view, it might be Mr. Margetson. " The Picton Gazette

"Ernie Margetson is uniquely well equipped to lead the next term of council. He has the right balance of private and public experience, a genuine desire to bridge the cultural seams that stitch Prince Edward County together, and he has the doggedness to see the job done well. The place matters to Margetson. It’s in his bones."  The Wellington Times
